Year 12 Farewell Assembly and 10 Year Reunion with the Class of 2012
The end of Week 2 was an exciting time at the Senior College. We held a special farewell assembly for our Year 12 students on Friday the 21st of October. We shared photos and video footage from their younger years and a number of staff shared words of wisdom. We had some very special guests attend - 10 of our 19 graduates from 2012, including some who travelled from interstate to celebrate their 10 year reunion. These students were Essington’s first ever Year 12 cohort and graduates. They enjoyed a tour of the college and a lunch in the staff room, where they shared memories and stories of their final months at school, one decade later. That evening we heard more about their success over dinner.
Saturday night saw us celebrate our current Year 12s at their graduation ceremony at the Darwin Convention Centre. 71 students have gained their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training and are off to travel, join the workforce and/or begin tertiary study. We are so proud of each and every one of them and wish them well for their examinations which will take place in Week 5 and 6.
