Senior School

Essington supports academic excellence and dynamic learning throughout our students high school journey.

The Essington School's Senior School in Darwin offers a dynamic high school learning experience for your child, with guidance and support from a dedicated team of educators. Essington helps facilitate your child's transition into university and post-secondary studies.

Following on from the precedence set in the Junior School, your student in encouraged to build their own educational program, according to their interests, abilities and potential career paths.

Academic Programs are negotiated with your child in consideration of their post-secondary goals and can be chosen from the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) Program and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

Essington encourages your child to pursue non-academic programs beyond the classroom to promote personal development, growth and engagement with the community.

The SEAL Program

Looking to give your child a head start in their academic journey? Our Selected Entry Accelerated Learning, or SEAL, Program is designed for Year 9 students who are preparing to enter Year 10, and provides a unique opportunity to engage in challenging and stimulating academic work.

Senior School Philosophy

From the beginning of 2011 The Essington School has offered a unique high school program for Darwin students.

This educational journey is very much about where your child is going and ensuring that they have the necessary support and guidance every step of the way to get to where they are going.

This philosophy will allow your child to operate in an adult learning environment, readying them for the next stage of their lives. We will strive to ensure that your student graduates as a global citizen ready to embrace the future.
