General:
Active Learning Practices for Schools - ALPS, Active Learning Practice for Schools, is an electronic community dedicated to the improvement and advancement of educational instruction and practice.  Our mission is to create an on-line collaborative environment between teachers and administrators from around the world with educational researchers, professors, and curriculum designers at Harvard's Graduate School of Education and Project Zero.
Early Childhood Connections - The Early Childhood Connections website has been set up to appeal to professionals from across the health, education, children's services and community sectors and also to parents.  Information on the site includes: recent reports and publications on the early years and sections on children's services, children with additional needs, child health and development, cultural diversity, early literacy, injury prevention, mental health, crime prevention, family support/home visiting, nutrition and parenting.
EdNA Online - EdNA Online is a service that aims to support and promote the benefits of the Internet for learning, education and training in Australia. It is organised around Australian curriculum, its tools are free to Australian educators, and it is funded by the bodies responsible for education provision in Australia - all Australian governments.

George Lucas Educational Foundation - The George Lucas Educational Foundation documents and disseminates the most exciting classrooms where innovations are taking place.  By shining the spotlight on these inspiring teachers and students, they hope others will consider how their work can promote change in their own schools.  The site has three foci: Assessment, Teacher Preparation and Community Partnerships.
LATIS - Department of Employment Education and Training - Learning and Technology in Schools.
Teachernet UK - This website contains over a thousand lesson plans and resources across a wide range of subject areas.  The resources that link directly from the Teachernet website have been evaluated by teachers.  Users can select a subject and keystage from the dropdown menus, and then search Teachernet reviews, National Curriculum Online or Schemes of Work (lesson plans).
Curriculum - Maths
  • Origami Diagrams - This site contains a large number of origami plans which can be loaded as PDF files and printed.  They are sorted into simple, intermediate and complex.  There is access from this page to a searchable database.
  • Edmark's Mighty Math Club - If you have ever used one of Edmark's math programs, then you know what to expect from this site. If not, then be sure to investigate this site for a wide variety of terrific math activities grouped by student age. Be sure not to miss the free Geoboard software that you can download and use for many of the activities listed here as well as activities that you develop yourself. Students can even download it and use it at their homes. Some of the activities can be done off line, some use the Geoboard software and some are extension activities for Edmark software.

     

Curriculum - Asia
  • INFO ASIA - ASIA 2000 Foundation of New Zealand- The New Zealand site attempts to be a one-stop resource for teachers, journalists and business people who want to know more about Asia.  It contains a guide to Asian cultural sites on the web, online resources for teachers, and information on business in Asia, as well as NewsAsia which provides regional news via Reuters.
Curriculum - Visual Arts
  •  CanTeach - Visual Arts and Crafts - This CanTeach visual arts and crafts resource for teachers contains resources, educational activities, and lesson plans for teachers.  Lesson plans include many activities for early childhood classes, such as paper collages, papier mache, and magnetic art.
Curriculum - English - Reading
  • Early Readers Webquest - This site been designed to assist teachers and Teacher Librarians utilise the potential to develop children's appreciation for Australian children's literature and develop visual communication skills via picture story books.
